Opened in January 2009 as Twigs and Branches Floral, we have recently rebranded to Stem Event Design. We cater to luxury events in Metro Detroit, including throughout Michigan, and have been recognized for our tailored approach to event design.

 

Kevin Miller

President

Kevin Miller is the owner and founder of Stem Event Design. Kevin has always enjoyed the creative field, from renovating and furnishing residential homes to waking up in the morning and walking his gardens with a cup of coffee. Kevin frequents Fox 2 Detroit News showing off party décor ideas to Michigan locals.  Kevin enjoys traveling and is a big foodie. He often gets his inspiration from the interiors of hotels and restaurants. He loves taking his client's vision and bringing it to life with his passion of event design.

Madison Korn

Floral/Event Designer

Maddy is one of our top event designers. She is well-versed in catering to your style and flourishes with creativity. She has a loving golden retriever named Kane. Maddy is not only excited to be planning her wedding but to be a part of the planning process for yours too!

Megan Phillips

Floral/Event Designer

Meet Megan, a floral designer with 5 years of experience in the industry. Her vintage eclectic style is both trendy and timeless, with a keen eye for detail. She's a Pinterest addict and stays on top of the latest trends. Megan loves working one-on-one with clients to create bespoke events that reflect their personality. She has a passion for floral design and creating unique and fun arrangements. In her free time, she loves thrift shopping and reinventing old items. She's a devoted cat mother and loves Thai food. She’s a Virgo sun, Libra moon, and Scorpio rising. With Megan, you can rest assured that she'll be with you from the first meeting until the big day.

Melissa Garcia

Floral/Event Designer

Melissa’s primary design approach consists of stretching limits and creating new concepts all while adding texture, texture, texture! In addition to weddings, her latest career endeavors have included private parties and large corporate events. When explaining her favorite aspect of event design Melissa says, “I enjoy planning each detail, large and small, to meet my client’s exact vision in a manner that far exceeds their expectations.” When away from STEM, Melissa enjoys spending time on the farm with her husband, family, and pet goats.

Abby Kalbfleisch

Procurement Specialist/Floral Designer

With a keen eye for detail and a vast knowledge of flower species, she excels as a procurement specialist. Recently, she has brought locally grown flowers to STEM through the Michigan Flower Growers Co-operative. Abby is known as "the plant queen" she loves to grow and nurture plants of all kinds. She enjoys growing peonies & anemones, woodland walks, and loves dogs!

Claire Maskill

Operational Coordinator

Claire graduated from Central Michigan University with a bachelor’s degree in general business administration: applied business communication with a minor in event management. She began her journey as an intern three years ago and has fallen in love with the industry since. Currently, Claire manages the logistics for each event. Moreover, she takes pride in ensuring everything runs smoothly and efficiently. When she is not pursuing her career goals, you’ll often find her searching for the best deals when shopping. She is a people person and loves to interact with friends over a strawberry acai refresher or a good meal.

Paige root

Inventory Coordinator

The details are super important to Paige as she makes a big contribution to making sure the inventory is up-to-date and organized. She is committed to ensuring the success of your event has all the proper rentals to make the special day you and the event designer dreamt of. When she is not sorting inventory, she enjoys ice cream and walks with her dogs. 


Juliet REed

Floral Designer

Juliet loves the weird and unique! As a floral designer with many years of experience, she loves to continue to keep learning more. Her hands-on approach and ability to tackle creative challenges ensures every detail big or small is included in every piece she works on. Juliet loves collecting both a variety of taxidermy and rare insects. She spends her free time enjoying reality TV with her husband, their two cats, and a gecko.
